Gisheke

Gisheke, the newest Muraho Trading Company washing station, is perched in Rwanda’s Nyamasheke District, overlooking Lake Kivu. Nearly 40% of its cherries arrive by boat from Mushungwe and nearby islands, as the station is only accessible by water. Its unique geography, with wind channelled between steep hills, creates ideal conditions for processing and drying naturally processed coffees.

Brew Guide

Filter

We recommend using the golden 1:16 ratio (one gram of coffee to every 16 grams of water). This recipe is a good starting point, but you can fine-tune it to suit your taste. Get your water as hot as you can, and adjust the grind size to achieve a 3-4 minute brew time (The finer the grind, the longer it will take to brew).

What brew method do you recommend?

We have purposely chosen coffees that work well with both filter and espresso brew methods. Recipes will be provided for each coffee, so this will be a good place to start, but we recommend fine-tuning it to suit your taste and machinery.

Do you ship internationally?

Absolutely. We offer express tracked delivery to all destinations that we ship to. We work with competitive flat-rate shipping costs to Europe and the rest of the world, which are added at checkout.

If your shipping address is outside of the EU, you will be responsible for any customs or import duties and local taxes that may be payable.

If your country is not available, please send us an email to see if we can ship our coffees to you via courier. Or start a collective, just reach out for more information."

When will I receive my order?

Our fulfilment team ensures that orders placed by 3 PM are processed and shipped on the same day. While next-day delivery is our standard, occasional delays may occur due to factors beyond our control.

We aim for a seamless experience, but if a delay does happen, rest assured, we are committed to getting your order to you as quickly as possible.

Are coffees pre-ground?

No. To safeguard the freshness and integrity of our coffees we only ship out whole bean coffee. You’ll get the coffees exactly as the roasters intended sealed inside airtight bags so that they have reached their peak by the time they land on your doorstep.
